Back in the Netherlands we were no big spenders but as our income now differs from month to month we are extra careful with money. Olivia is not yet completely on board with this. A couple of days ago she entered the kitchen to tell Vikki that she had a coin in her mouth but as she was doing that she swallowed the coin. After consulting the pediatrician we monitored the contents of her diapers a bit more closely than usual. As we did not find the coin I took the girls down to the hospital today to make an x-ray of Olivia.

The x-ray machine was really impressive and Olivia was completely silent during the process. The photo showed what at first appeared to be the coin stuck quite high (on the photo to the left of her spine).

Soon after we realised that it was actually the button on Olivia’s back showing on the x-ray. The coin was nowhere to be found so it might have passed unnoticed. If it is still in there at least we know it is not in a place where it can cause danger and it will still pass sooner or later. In case we do find the coin one of these days, I think we will throw it out…
